PRODUCT OVERVIEW

A working fuel cell car designed for your classroom! Powered by water and sunlight, the Dr FuelCell™ Model Car provides a simple and effective demonstration of solar hydrogen technology.


The fuel cell car kit includes a reversible PEM fuel cell that works as both an electrolyzer and a fuel cell. As an electrolyzer, the cell uses the power delivered by a solar module to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. As a fuel cell, the cell uses the stored hydrogen and oxygen to power the electric motor and drive the car. Yes, the students can actually see a fully functioning fuel cell car!


The car is designed to withstand regular classroom use, is easy-to-use and great for individual or group activities. Teach concepts such as: electrolysis, solar power, the science of fuel cells, energy & energy conversion, volts, watts, and amps, to name a few. The course book is written by an award-winning teacher with each experiment designed with both the teacher and student in mind.


Included in the kit:

  • Solar Panel Module
    Used to power the electrolyzer or it can be used to run the car directly
  • Reversible PEM fuel cell
    Operates as both an electrolyzer and a fuel cell
    Can be used as a stand-alone unit or connected to the car chassis
  • Car chassis with electric motor
    Reversible fuel cell is attached to the chassis for operation of the car
  • Load Measurement Box
    Measurement box with voltmeter and ammeter, 2 electrical loads (lamp and electric motor) 7 different adjustable resistance for characteristic curve analysis.
    The modular nature of the system is easily scalable and up-gradable as new components become available.
